The history of La Manga Club spans over four decades and during this time we have seen the Club grow in both size and reputation. With numerous sporting greats visiting the Club over the years coupled with the first-class facilities and accommodation, La Manga Club has become one of Europe's most prestigious sports resorts and tourist destinations.

1970s - The Mar Menor's potential as a golf course and a high-level tourist attraction is realised. 'La Manga Golf Course' is completed becoming the home of The Spanish Open during the decade. The Tennis Centre is home to its first resident pro.

1980s
- La Manga Club gains a golf legend as its Touring Professional.  British tennis star becomes the appointed Director of the Tennis Centre. The Club expands in terms of both size and facilities.

1990s
- The magnificent Príncipe Felipe Hotel is built. The West Golf Course expands. Football comes into its own at the Club, with National Teams queueing up to train here. Top sporting tournaments are held at La Manga Club.

2000-present
- La Manga Club becomes a centre for excellence and is showered with awards and accolades. More National sporting teams come to train at the Club. The arrival of Spa La Manga Club.
