Water Sports and Scuba Diving
The Mar Menor has everything you need for water sports and is considered one of Europe's best sailing and windsurfing destinations.
Dinghy sailing and windsurfing courses are available through locally-based sailing and wind-surfing schools. It is possible to hire dinghies, surf boards and wetsuits as well as sailing, rowing and powerboats - yachts, catamarans, canoes and kayaks are also available. Sea fishing or a historic schooner cruise are other options. Powerboat, waterskiing, jet-ski rides and other watersports are available all around the Mar Menor.
This part of the Spanish Mediterranean coast has safe, clear and warm waters. There is a rich and unique blend of Atlantic and Mediterranean sea life and you can see species such as barracuda, rays, octopus and occasionally turtles. You will also find some of the prettiest types of both hard and soft coral.
The Islas Hormigas marine reserve, which is a protected area, boasts some of Spain's best diving, with an average visibility of 12 to 15 metres and water temperatures ranging from 16ºC in winter to 30ºC in the summer.
Diving Schools offer a complete range of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) training courses from beginner up to Dive Master level.
Escorts to recommended dive sites are available to qualified divers and novices.

Cycling is a popular way to discover the resort and its surroundings.
Choose from fairly easy roads with some hills within La Manga Club or the miles of flat, easy routes around the Mar Menor. For those wanting more of a challenge there are many off-road routes in the hills surrounding the resort.
Bikes can be hired and helmets, locks and maps are all provided. There are also junior bikes for all ages, with or without stabilisers.
For toddlers aged 18 months and over a child trailer or seat can be attached to an adult's bike.

The hills surrounding the resort offer some excellent walking and jogging routes, with well-marked paths and many stunning views.
There are routes suitable for a wide range of ages and levels of fitness.
